We Can’t Do This Alone

At PennyFix, our mission is simple but powerful: to fund spay and neuter programs so fewer dogs and cats end up in shelters—or worse, on the streets. Every spay or neuter means fewer litters, fewer unwanted animals, and fewer heartbreaking stories of pets who never find a home.

We had a vision: what if every can of pet food sold in the U.S. had just one extra penny added to the price? That penny could go directly toward spaying and neutering, creating a steady, sustainable stream of funding to tackle the problem at its root. One penny at a time, we could change everything.

But here’s the truth: no pet food company has signed on—yet. We believe they will, and we are working hard to get the right partners in the pet food industry on board. In the meantime, we’re relying on the generosity of people who care deeply about animals. And right now, that’s mostly been us—everyday people digging into our own pockets to get PennyFix off the ground. We’re not backed by a wealthy foundation. We’re not a corporate-funded nonprofit. We’re simply a group of animal lovers who saw a need and couldn’t look the other way.

That’s where you come in.

If you believe, like we do, that every dog and cat deserves a chance at a safe, loving life, we need your help. Every donation—whether it’s $3.65, $5, $25, or $100—directly fuels grants for spay and neuter programs. These programs reduce the population of homeless pets humanely and sustainably.

We don’t need huge checks from billionaires to make an impact (though we wouldn’t say no!). What we truly need is a community of people willing to give what they can, consistently. Monthly donations, even small ones, help us build a reliable base of funding until that big penny-surcharge dream becomes reality.

We can keep posting blogs, sharing our mascots, and making posters—but at the end of the day, the actual act of spaying and neutering takes money. If you believe in what we’re doing, we need you to spread the word, make donations, and invite others to join the cause. Together, that’s how real change happens.

In order for PennyFix to be successful, we need to join paws across America—individuals, communities, and (eventually) pet food companies—uniting to make a difference that lasts.
